Four members of the Class of 1969 are seen here in their mandatory "Beanies"

Until the late 1960s, freshmen orientation included a number of campus traditions and rituals designed to instill campus pride. Four members of the Class of 1969 are seen here in their mandatory "Beanies", and listen as an upperclassman teaches them a number from the University Song Book. The photo is from the fall of 1965.
