- Gift
receipts for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002 were $43.3
million. The total number of donors was 35,462.
- The
total assets of the UConn Foundation have grown from $65 million at
June 30, 1995 to $242 million at June 30, 2002. Endowment assets at
the Foundation have grown from $50 million to $197 million during
the same seven-year period.
- During
fiscal year 2002, over $22 million in private gifts and endowment
income was provided to the University which included $5.6 million
for student scholarships and awards, $5.4 million for endowed
faculty positions and other faculty and staff support, $4.3 million
for facilities and equipment, and $6.7 million in programmatic
support.
- In May
2001, the University publicly announced the $300 million
Campaign UConn which seeks to raise $300 million with $75
million each for scholarships and faculty support and $150 million
for programs and select building projects. At the end of the fiscal
year, the Campaign had raised $202.3 million, 67% of its
goal.
- Since
the start of the Campaign a total of 292 endowment funds have been
established: 178 for student support; 31 for faculty support; and
83 for program support.
