- Annual
gift receipts have dramatically increased from $8.2 million in FY '95 to
$50.6 million for FY '01. The $50.6 million represents a 37% increase
over the prior fiscal year.
- The total
number of donors was 33,545. Of that number 17,138 were UConn
alumni, a participation rate of 20 percent which places UConn among
the top public universities nationally.
- The UConn
Foundation's total assets have grown from $65 million in FY '95 to
$251 million in FY '01.
- Endowment
assets have grown from $50 million to $209 million during the same
six-year period.
- General
Electric pledged more than $11 million over the next five years to help
catalyze UConn's emergence as a leader in e-business, e-engineering
and to bolster diversity initiatives. It is the largest single corporate
investment in UConn.
- In May 2001,
the University publicly announced the $300 million Campaign UConn
which seeks to raise $75 million for scholarships, $75 million for
faculty support, and $150 million for programs and select building
projects. As of the end of the fiscal year, the Campaign had raised
$156 million, 52 percent of its goal.
- In the three years
prior to the Campaign's public announcement, a total of 230
endowment funds had been established: 141 for student support,
25 for faculty support, and 64 for program support.
