- The UConn
Foundation's assets have grown from $65 million in
FY95 to more than $264 million in FY '00. Assets of $264 million
represent a 26% increase over the prior year.
- Endowment
assets have grown from $50 million to $221 million
during the same five-year period. The $221 million represent a
26% increase over the prior year.
- Gift
receipts have increased dramatically from $8.2 million
in FY '95 to $37 million for FY '00. The $37 million represents a
44% increase over the prior year.
- Gifts
to programs at Storrs and the regional campuses
accounted for $22 million, up 32% from the prior year. Gifts for
athletics were $9.7 million, up 41%. Gifts to the Health Center
were $5 million, up 168%.
- The total
number of donors increased an impressive 32% to
34,000, up from 26,000 the prior year. Of those 34,000 donors,
22,000 were UConn alumni, a participation rate of 19% compared
with the previous year's 14%.
- At the end
of FY '00 the Foundation realized a return on
investment of 16.5%, significantly outperforming the composite
bench mark index of 9.1%.
